GAITHERSBURG, Md. (7News) — A twin engine plane made an emergency landing at Montgomery County Airpark after having issues with the nose gear and circling the skies several times, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service officials and flight radar data.
Crews were called to the airport after learning a Piper PA-34-200 plane with two people on board was trying to land when it had the equipment issues.
Officials said the plane circled the airport to resolve the issue before it landed. Video from Montgomery County officials showed the plane landing with the nose on the ground.
The plane, which is registered to High Flyers Aviation Service, LLC. according to Federal Aviation Administration data, took off from the airport initially before flying toward Northwest and return to the Airpark, according to flight data from ADSBExchange flight data.
No injuries or fires were reported. The airpark was closed to flights temporarily.
