A 33-year-old man from Charlotte Hall was killed late Monday night in a single-vehicle crash in Arnold, police said.

Officers responded to the collision at about 10:30 p.m. July 27, along Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard west of Governor Ritchie Highway.

A preliminary investigation found that a 2020 Mazda 3 was traveling southbound on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard when the driver failed to negotiate a left turn in the roadway. The car then left the roadway and struck a guardrail and a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
