The Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office updated the “Do Not Call” list Wednesday with nine new names of Baltimore City Police officers employed more than five years ago by the department. The list is a roster of officers, both current and former, with credibility issues that the State’s Attorney’s Office maintains on its website.

The office added the names after a year and a half review of Baltimore City Police records, said Baltimore City State’s Attorney Spokesman James Bentley.

“Our Public Trust & Police Integrity Unit conducted a deep dive into [Baltimore City Police Internal Affairs database] IAPro to locate any sustained findings for things like ‘false statements’ that we were not previously aware of, along with criminal charges against officers that we also were not aware of (i.e., from other jurisdictions),” Bentley said to The Baltimore Sun in an email.

“Whenever we located a file subject to discovery or disclosure, we immediately notified the discovery and disclosure team of its existence,” Bentley said. “Simultaneously, the [Integrity Unit] Chief logged separately those that should be considered for [the “Do Not Call” list], and later referred several of them to the State’s Attorney.”
