
Aberdeen, Md. (WBFF) — Two men have been arrested in connection with the rape of a juvenile last weekend at a motel in Aberdeen, according to the Aberdeen Police Department (APD).
On May 9, around 2:18 p.m., officers saw a juvenile in distress outside a motel in the 900 block of Hospitality Way. They stopped to speak with the child.
Officers quickly recognized signs that the juvenile may have been the victim of a violent crime, prompting detectives to respond and assume control of the investigation.
24-year-old Jeofredo Andason Santos Bernal, of Parkville, and 27-year-old Miguel De Jesus Pineda Lopez, of Baltimore, were identified as suspects in the case following a traffic stop in Aberdeen.
During the investigation, detectives secured and executed a search warrant related to the case.

The search uncovered additional evidence, including a handgun believed to the connected to the incident, according to APD.
Both men have been charged with multiple felony offenses, including rape and related crimes involving the use of a dangerous weapon.
Police didn’t provide any additional identifying information regarding the juvenile victim due to their age and the nature of this investigation.
