BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD (WBFF) — Baltimore County Police have identified the officer that was injured in a shooting on Sunday morning in Pikesville.
Authorities said that Officer P. Catalfamo remains in critical but stable condition at Shock Trauma after being shot and injured on June 7.
Around 8:50 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious person involving indecent exposure along a trail off Milford Mill Road.
Upon arrival, an armed person fired at officers, who then returned fire.
Catalfamo was struck and taken to Shock Trauma, and the suspect was hit by officers and taken to a local hospital.
A bystander in the park was also struck by gunfire and taken to a hospital.
Police said they did not know whether the bystander was struck by shots from the officers or the suspect.
Detectives said that two Baltimore County police officers fired their service weapons during the incident, but Catalfamo was not one of them.
Police said that the bystander who was struck by gunfire is also recovering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The suspect in the shooting also remains hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
Authorities said that the suspect’s name will be released upon the filing of criminal charges.
