Authorities investigating shooting that left 19-year-old injured in Edgewood

EDGEWOOD, Md. (WBFF) — Harford County Sheriff’s Office (HSCO) is investigating after a 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in Edgewood.

Deputies assigned to the HCSO Southern Precinct were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, to the 700 block of Court Square Drive in Edgewood for a report of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found the 19-year-old suffering from non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a gunshot wound to his lower body.

Medical aid was rendered until EMS medics arrived, police said. The victim was taken to a Baltimore-area trauma center for further treatment.

Investigators said the shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Hanson Road and appears to be isolated.

Detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division took over the case and conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify witnesses and gather information.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
