MARYLAND (WBFF) — A Baltimore man was arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop in Frederick County led to police recovering a stolen handgun and drugs in his vehicle.
On March 4, around 9:00 p.m., Frederick County officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stay in the lane and an equipment violation while traveling westbound on Interstate 70 near New Market.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 35-year-old John Tyrell Gross from Baltimore, authorities reported.
During the traffic stop, police saw what appeared to be a disguised soda can container, which officials said is commonly used to hide narcotics.

A K-9 unit responded and positively alerted to the odor of narcotics, leading to a search inside the car that resulted in the seizure of the following items:

Officials reported that the firearm was stolen from Virginia, and due to prior arrests, Gross was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Gross was then arrested and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with the following:
