
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WBFF) — A 32-year-old man from Baltimore was arrested for the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man from Glen Burnie late Saturday night following an altercation, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Officers responded to the 7700 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard at about 9:15 p.m. April 18 for a reported shooting.
Police said officers and EMS personnel found the victim and provided life-saving measures before he was taken to an area trauma center, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was later identified as Michael Joseph Hayes, 27, of Glen Burnie.

Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division Homicide Unit took over the investigation and learned the victim had been at the address earlier in the evening before the shooting, police said. During the victim’s last visit, police said he got into a physical altercation in the parking lot with the suspect, who then produced a firearm and shot him.
Police said the suspect, Ioannis Georgios Giorgakis, 32, of Baltimore, remained on scene and was detained pending the investigation.
He was later arrested and charged, police said.
