Baltimore police arrest man after couple brutally attacked, robbed in Fells Point

Baltimore police announced that a man has been arrested and charged with murder following the ongoing investigation into the attack and robbery of an elderly couple in broad daylight in Fells Point.

Police said they arrested 32-year-old Montray McCray, of Baltimore.

On Thursday afternoon, police announced that one of the victims, 76-year-old Claudia Bismark, succumbed to her injuries and died.

McCray was wanted for the assault and robbery of a 60-year-old man and 76-year-old Bismark in the 1700 block of Fleet Street on September 29.

The couple was attacked around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, just blocks from Broadway Market, where a friend, Takeya Little, said the two had been eating breakfast shortly before the attack.

Police said the couple was both assaulted and knocked to the ground by a man who then took off with one of their wallets. Both victims were taken to the hospital.

As of Wednesday, Sept. 30, Little said Wade is recovering.

On October 1, police reported they arrested McCray while in the unit block of South Carrollton Avenue.

McCray was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he will be charged with murder, assault, robbery, and reckless endangerment, officials reported.
