BALTIMORE (WBFF) β The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) is advising drivers of temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the Baltimore Washington One Carnival and Parade.
The event will be held in Druid Hill Park from Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12.
In preparation for the events, the following road closures will be implemented with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Carlins Park Drive closed at Druid Park Drive β 6 p.m. on Friday, July 10 through 3 p.m. Saturday, July 11.
- Druid Park Drive closed between Liberty Heights Avenue and Reisterstown Road β Saturday, July 11 from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Reisterstown Road at Druid Park Drive temporary closure – July 11 starting at approximately 12 p.m. for the beginning of the parade until all participants move onto Auchentoroly Terrace. This closure will also affect traffic traveling southbound on Park Heights Avenue.
- Southbound Aunchentoroly Terrace at Reisterstown Road temporary closure – July 11 starting at approximately 12 p.m.
- Red Road closed at East Drive and at Shop Road β 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11 to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 12.
On Saturday, July 11, the parade will be held from approximately 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. During the parade, the following traffic detour will be in effect to direct drivers around the parade area:
- Westbound Druid Park Drive traffic will be detoured right onto Park Heights Avenue, left on W. Cold Spring Lane, left on Wabash Avenue/Dorithan Road, right onto Hilton Road, and left on Liberty Heights Avenue to end detour.
The following parking restrictions will also be implemented this weekend for the carnival and parade:
- Carlins Park Drive from Druid Park Drive to Dead End β 3 p.m. Friday, July 10 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 11.
- Druid Park Drive from Liberty Heights Avenue to Reisterstown Road β Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. β 5 p.m. (parade assembly area).
- Towanda Avenue from Druid Park Drive to Wahaton Avenue β Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. β 5 p.m.
- Swann Drive from Druid Park Lake Drive to Mansion House Drive β 3 p.m. Friday, July 10 to 11 p.m. Sunday, July 12.
- Beechwood Drive from Gwynns Falls Parkway to Swann Drive β 3 p.m. Friday, July 10 to 11 p.m. Sunday, July 12.
BCDOT is advising drivers that during the parade, temporary traffic stops will be implemented along the parade route for the safety of participants. All posted parking restrictions will be strictly enforced, and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.
