
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) — Motorists traveling across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge next week should plan for overnight closures and shifting traffic patterns as crews perform routine preservation and maintenance work, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA).
The work is scheduled for the week of July 26 through Aug. 1 and is weather permitting.
The westbound span may be fully closed during the following times:
During full closures, two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span.
In addition, one lane on the westbound span may be closed:
The MDTA said lane closures are subject to change depending on weather, traffic volumes and other work conditions.

To help avoid delays, the MDTA recommends crossing the Bay Bridge during these times:
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
The MDTA reminds drivers that headlights are required at all times while crossing the bridge and urges motorists to obey lane-control signals and traffic devices.
