Baltimore Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man in connection with a commercial robbery at a Giant in Federal Hill. This comes as investigators continue working to solve more than a dozen other commercial burglary and robbery cases across the city.

Police said the latest robbery happened Aug. 20th at the grocery store on East Fort Avenue.

Investigators released an image of the man they say is connected to the case.

Some people who live in the area told FOX45 the incident is concerning, especially for those who frequent businesses in the neighborhood.

“I think it’s sad because the state should start charging people for stuff. It’s crazy that people are just getting away scott free,” said resident Marlon Meir.

The case comes as Baltimore Police have recently released surveillance images from more than a dozen unsolved commercial burglaries and robberies across the city.

Those cases include a burglary at Lexington Market in July and another at Hazlo International Foods on East Lombard Street.

Residents who spoke with FOX45 pointed to several possible factors contributing to crime.

“It’s very hard out here. A lot of programs were cut for a lot of the families and individuals take advantage of to sustain their families,” said resident Taryn Gross-Ojekwe.

Baltimore Police Department data shows commercial burglaries and robberies are down citywide compared to this time last year.

Police are still working to identify the man connected to the South Baltimore robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Baltimore Police or Metro Crime Stoppers.
