PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A cat was rescued after a witness reported seeing someone attempt to throw the animal from a moving vehicle while crossing the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, according to the Prince George’s County Division of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police.

The incident was reported on Sunday on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Trail after a concerned citizen contacted authorities.
Park police said officers responded quickly and safely rescued the cat, which was not injured. The animal is now receiving care.
Authorities credited the witness for promptly reporting the incident and said the officers’ swift response helped protect the animal.
The Prince George’s County Division of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police said it is investigating the incident as a case of suspected animal cruelty.
