Anne Arundel County Board of Elections announced an error in the 2026 Gubernatorial Primary Practice Ballot booklet, prompting the board to resend corrected practice ballots to approximately 10,000 voters.

Officials reported that a localized printing layout issue on page 2 of the sample ballot displayed an incorrect Legislative District for some voters in Anne Arundel County.

This error was discovered on Tuesday after a local voter inquired about the ballot.

The Board confirmed that the formatting error is strictly on the practice ballot booklet, which is intended to help voters review candidates ahead of time.

As soon as we caught this issue, we notified our practice ballot printer and issued a corrected replacement practice ballot to impacted voters. We are fixing this issue transparently. We appreciate the voter who reached out to us, and we want to assure all Anne Arundel County residents that their actual, official voting ballots will reflect their correct Legislative District,” Election Director David Garreis said in a press release.

Officials noted that the corrected informational mailings are their top priority with the Board’s printing vendor and will be sent out as soon as possible to minimize confusion.
