Downed wires close I-97 in Anne Arundel County

A portion of Interstate 97 is closed due to downed wires in Anne Arundel County.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, both I-97 north and southbound at Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard is shut down while crews are working to remove wires from across the roadway.

Maryland was hit with severe weather in the evening hours of July 4.

Officials said that drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes.
