ANNAPOLIS, Md (7News) — Governor Wes Moore announced a $5.2 million investment into the Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Maryland program to help Marylanders build skills for high-demand careers in tech, healthcare, and more.
“Maryland’s competitive edge is dependent on how we prepare our people,” said Moore. “By connecting thousands of Marylanders with high-quality training and career pathways in high-growth sectors, we are strategically preparing our workforce for the jobs of tomorrow and actively fueling economic growth across our state.”
The Governor’s office says this grant will help more than 3,000 people across the state, along with 1,100 incumbent workers looking to grow their careers.

Through industry-led partnerships, the program connects employers with education and training providers to deliver targeted, job-driven programs, ensuring Marylanders gain skills that employers are actively seeking.
The $5.2 million award is being split between different organizations to support training programs. According to the Governor’s office, these community colleges, local workforce development boards, and nonprofit organizations will partner with employers across the state.

Workforce training and industry partnerships drive economic growth for our state and build financial security for Maryland families.”
According to the Governor’s Office, the EARN Maryland program generates $19 in the state’s economy for every $1 invested. It has helped over 10,000 Marylanders get workforce training and earn in-state jobs.
Governor Moore plans to continue funding the EARN Maryland program in the 2027 fiscal year, with $15.3 million set aside for it.
