Homicide detectives respond after Harbor East water rescue sends victim to hospital

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — One person was rescued from the water in Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on August 2, crews were called to the 1300 block of Lancaster Street, which is across the street from The Eden and Keystone Korner Baltimore, for a reported water rescue.

Crews were told that two people were in the water.

When crews arrived, they confirmed that one person had gotten out of the water themselves.

Divers entered the water and located the other victim and removed them from the water, officials said.

Medics provided care to the victim on scene and then transported them to a local hospital.

At this time, the victims’ identities are unknown as well as the extent of their injuries.

FOX45 crews saw homicide detectives and police officers on scene.

Roads were closed in the area near the 1300 block of Lancaster Street.

This water rescue is at least the second water rescue that occurred on August 2. Around 1 p.m., crews rescued an unidentified male from the Patapsco River in the city’s Canton neighborhood after the male tried to flee from police, according to authorities. He was taken into police custody without injury.

It’s unclear how the two people ended up in the water.
