Man arrested after firing shots at vehicle, barricading himself inside Severn home

A 48-year-old Severn man was arrested Sunday night following a report of shots fired at a vehicle that developed into a barricade situation, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Western District officers responded around 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 9 to the 1800 block of Severn Hills Lane in Severn for a report of gunfire.

Police said responding officers learned that a suspect in a pickup truck had allegedly fired at a vehicle as it was leaving the community.

During the investigation, officers located the suspected pickup truck in the driveway of a home in the 1800 block of Severn Hills Lane.

Police established a perimeter around the residence, and members of the Quick Response Team were called to the scene in an effort to get the suspect to come out of the home.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody.

Police identified the man arrested as Aaron C. Acors, 48, of Severn.

He was charged in connection with the incident, though police did not provide details about the specific charges in the information released.

No information was provided about injuries or a possible motive for the shooting.
