MARYLAND (WBFF) — Maryland Lottery players will have a shot at two $1 million top prizes this fall as the agency launches its new Millionaire Raffle, with tickets going on sale Nov. 2 and nine weekly drawings beginning Nov. 9.
The Maryland Lottery said the raffle will include more than 2,000 cash prizes across eight Early Bird drawings and a final drawing. Each Monday from Nov. 9 through Dec. 28, one $10,000 prize will be awarded in an Early Bird drawing. All tickets also remain eligible for the Jan. 4 final drawing, which will award two $1 million prizes, 10 prizes of $50,000, 500 prizes of $500 and 1,700 prizes of $100.
Tickets cost $20. The Lottery said a maximum of 300,000 tickets will be available, sold through clerk-operated terminals or self-service vending machines at all Maryland Lottery retailers from Nov. 2 until 1:55 a.m. on Jan. 4, or until all 300,000 have been purchased.
There are no numbers to pick. Tickets are sequentially numbered in the order they are sold, beginning with Ticket 000001, and the number will appear on the ticket.
Every ticket sold through 1:55 a.m. on Dec. 28 will be automatically entered into one of the weekly Early Bird drawings and the Jan. 4 finale, according to the Lottery.
Each Early Bird drawing includes only tickets purchased during a one-week sales period, with the winning number drawn from the range of numbers sold during those seven days. The Lottery’s schedule lists the following sales windows:
Winning numbers will be announced at 2 p.m. on each drawing day and will be available on mdlottery.com, the Maryland Lottery Mobile App and the Maryland Lottery’s official Facebook page.
