BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A person of interest was taken into custody Sunday evening in connection to a mosque fire in east Baltimore, police said.
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Oct. 25, patrol officers and firefighters were called to the 2600 block of Harford Road, located in the city’s Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood, for a reported fire.
There, officers saw a mosque that was fully engulfed in flames.

There were no reported injuries.
Two days ago, a 24-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash along the same block as Sunday’s fire. Police said the striking vehicle fled the scene following the crash. Officers also discovered the striking vehicle had been stolen in a carjacking earlier that evening in the 2000 block of Harford Road. The Citywide Robbery and Accident Investigation Units are investigating that incident.
It’s unclear at this time how the fire started on Sunday.
