BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — Baltimore County police are investigating what led to a deadly double shooting in Essex that left a man and a woman dead inside a car at the Waterford Landing Condominiums.
Police had a heavy presence at the complex as detectives worked the scene Monday. Neighbors described the violence as unusual for the community and said some residents are now feeling uneasy.
“There’s no reason for all this violence,” said Linda, a concerned neighbor.
Linda, who said she was protecting her identity, said the shooting has shaken residents and the families of the victims.

“It’s devastating. It’s devastating for the people that lost their lives. It’s devastating for all of us because we’re frightened. Apparently strangers came here and did this and the people that were shot, don’t live here. And now, there are two families that are grieving tonight,” Linda said.
Police have released few details, confirming only that the victims were a male and a female. Neighbors said they do not believe the victims lived in the community.
Surveillance video obtained by FOX45 News shows the victims’ car arriving at Banyan Wood Court just after 11 o’clock Monday morning. Linda described what happened next: “A car pull in three minutes later, people running outside to see what was going on.”
Police said residents called 911 to report a vehicle collision. When officers arrived, they found two people inside the vehicle, according to Baltimore County Police Det. Trae Corbin.

“Once they were on scene they located two individuals inside of the car,” Corbin said. “Both individuals have since been pronounced deceased.”
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation–as the search for the one responsible for the shootings continues. Neighbors told FOX45 News they believe the victims’ car arrived and met three men in the middle of the court before gunfire erupted, but detectives have not confirmed that account.
For some residents, the shooting has raised concerns about safety in the neighborhood.
“Kids play, like the parks right there, kids play out here, kids run up and down the street, adults walking in and out everywhere. Just want to safe in our neighborhood and it’s been safe in this neighborhood. This is completely like a shock,” said Shae, a concerned neighbor.
