BALTIMORE (WBFF) — We’re learning new information after a Baltimore teen was charged with murder while already in juvenile booking for a separate crime, according to Baltimore Police.
The Department confirmed the 16-year-old male has been charged with the first degree murder of Quinton McLellan, 35, of Baltimore.
Officers were called to the intersection of Ashland Avenue and Bond Street in the City’s Central district February 28, 2026.
According to dispatch audio the victim was found with a believed gunshot wound to his head. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Audio also indicated a gun was found at the scene.

Months went by, and on July 27 BPD announced an arrest had been made in the case.
According to Baltimore Police, the juvenile was already in custody at juvenile booking and had been since May after being arrested for a handgun violation and auto theft.
Furthermore, the Department confirmed the juvenile had another previous arrest for robbery in Baltimore City, back in 2025. The exact date was not provided.
According to the Department, the juvenile was released to his parent in that case, and is now accused of reoffending at least two times, including for murder.
FOX45 News reached out to DJS and asked if the juvenile should have been held for the robbery arrest in 2025. The Agency has not yet responded.
BPD has not yet released a believed motive in the murder case.
