President Donald Trump will not speak at U.S. Naval Academy’s Class of 2026 graduation and commissioning ceremony in Annapolis.

It was announced on Monday that General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will speak in his stead.

The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 22 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

In the past, the military academy has cycled through four speakers on a rotation: the Secretary of the Navy, the Secretary of Defense, the Vice President and the President.

After Vice President JD Vance spoke last fall, it was expected that Trump would speak.

Instead, Caine will address the Class of 2026.
