
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) is alerting drivers of road closures and traffic modifications this weekend due to Flower Mart, the Kinetic Sculpture Race and other events.
Drivers are encouraged to download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.

Officials said all events are weather permitting.
Intersection of E. Pratt St. and President St.
The intersection of E. Pratt St. and President St. will be shut down overnight for resurfacing work as part of the Inner Harbor Intersection Improvement Project.
Starting at 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, the intersection will be closed to traffic and detours will be in effect. The intersection will remain closed until noon on Sunday, May 3.

While the intersection is closed, local traffic will be maintained for local businesses and garages, officials said. The closure may cause delays, so drivers should plan ahead by allowing more travel time and seeking alternate routes.
The Charm City Circulator’s Green and Orange routes will be impacted. Riders should check the Charm City Circulator website or download the Passio GO! app for live updates.

Traffic modifications for Flower Mart
Flower Mart will be held on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 in the heart of Mount Vernon.
The following streets will be closed from 9 a.m. Thursday April, 30 through 11:59 p.m. Saturday, May 2 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

Parking restrictions near the event will be strictly enforced, officials warned. Drivers should obey all posted parking restrictions, be on the look out for pedestrians and seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
Traffic modifications for the Kinetic Sculpture Race
On Saturday, May 2, traffic modifications will go into effect for the Kinetic Sculpture Race.
The race will start and end at the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) on Covington Street at 9:30 a.m.

Participants will run the 15-mile course through the Inner Harbor and surrounding neighborhoods at the times below:
Covington Street will be closed between Key Highway and Cross Street starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 30 through 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2 with detours and parking restrictions in effect.
During the race, one lane of travel will be coned off for runners along the route wherever possible, officials said.
The following parking restrictions will go into effect Saturday, May 2 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
Drivers are advised that temporary traffic stops will happen throughout the race for the safety of participants. Transportation Enforcement Officers and Baltimore City Police will be positioned along the route to manage traffic flow. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to plan ahead by allowing extra travel time.

Traffic modifications for the Brigance Brigade Celebration of Champions
On Sunday morning, traffic modifications will go into effect for the Brigance Brigade Celebration of Champions, which starts and ends at the intersection of Ellwood Ave. and Boston St.
Participants will proceed north on Ellwood Avenue, left onto Eastern Avenue, then right to enter Patterson Park at the S. Linwood Avenue entrance to follow park paths. Runners will then exit the park at the S. Linwood Avenue entrance and turn left onto Eastern Avenue, and right on Ellwood Avenue, to the finish line.
The following streets will be closed Sunday, May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
Officials want drivers to be aware that temporary traffic stops may be put in place during the race for participants’ safety. Drivers traveling nearby should be on the look out for pedestrians and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Traffic modifications for the Baltimore Farmers’ Market
On Sunday, May 3, traffic modifications will go into effect for the Baltimore Farmers’ Market, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.
