Royal Farms employee accused of pulling loaded gun, striking customer with metal pole

A Royal Farms employee was arrested Sunday after allegedly threatening a customer with a gun and hitting her with a metal pole, police said.

According to police, on Aug. 16, at around 4 a.m., officers responded to the convenience store in the 6200 block of Pulaski Highway after a reported altercation.

When officers arrived, they learned two women, a 34-year-old customer, and a 40-year-old employee got into an argument.

Police said during the dispute, the employee grabbed a handgun and began threatening the customer. Authorities also said the employee struck the customer with a metal pole, injuring the customer’s arm.

Medics were called to the scene, but the 34-year-old declined medical treatment.

Officers found a loaded handgun in the employee’s bag and seized it, police said.

The employee was arrested and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she was charged with multiple counts of assault, handgun violations, obstruction and reckless endangerment.
