GRASONVILLE (WBFF) — After a long and arduous winter, boating season is finally upon the Chesapeake. The annual Bay Bridge Boat Show in Grasonville is back this weekend with more than 250 boats on display, 130 vendors, and educational opportunities for all levels of boating expertise.
Chesapeake Whalertowne will be exhibiting the all-new Boston Whaler 330 Outrage, a 33-foot boat that can reach speeds of up to 43 to 49 knots (50 to 55 mph). Hull Boss Boats, which operates out of Nanjemoy, will have a 28-foot boat on display as part of an effort to highlight local boatbuilders.
Kids and adults can visit the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center’s Fishmobile, a bus home to 13 live-animal tanks full of blue crabs, American eels, seahorses and other Chesapeake Bay residents.
For those looking to get into crabbing, stop by Capt. Bill Chesnut’s “Crabbing for Newbies” seminar on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the seminar tent. The session will go over the rules of recreational crabbing, the difference between a trot line and a trap, and tips on where to place them.
