CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A Silver Spring man already facing charges in an alleged kidnapping in Anne Arundel County is now accused of carrying out a similar attack in Charles County.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said Monday that detectives have charged 27-year-old Bryan Neal Gordon with kidnapping, false imprisonment and other related offenses in connection with the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in Waldorf.
According to detectives, a woman arranged to Gordon around 10:30 p.m. on June 28 in the 2200 block of Old Washington Road.
After she got into Gordon’s vehicle, he allegedly claimed to be a police officer, handcuffed her and beat her before driving to another location, where said she was sexually assaulted, CCSO said.
The woman escaped several hours later and called 911. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Gordon had been arrested the next morning by Maryland Transportation Authority Police ( MDTA) in Anne Arundel County in an unrelated kidnapping case.

A search warrant was issued for Gordon’s vehicle. Detectives recovered evidence linking him to the Charles County assault, and based on that evidence, an arrest warrant was obtained.
The Anne Arundel kidnapping case involved similar circumstances, which Gordon had also allegedly posed as a law enforcement officer, handcuffed a woman inside his vehicle and drove her away against her will.
The victim was eventually able to escape, and Gordon was arrested during a traffic stop near the airport.
