
ODENTON, Md. (WBFF) — A new automated speed enforcement camera will be activated on June 15 near Two Rivers Elementary, the Anne Arundel County Police Department announced Thursday.
The camera will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday along Conway Road in Odenton.

Police said the camera will “reduce vehicle speeds and promote safer driving habits” near schools.
After a 15-day warning period, citations will be issued for drivers traveling 12 mph or more over the posted speed limit.
Fines are determined by how much the driver was traveling over the speed limit. They range from $40 to $425.

Points won’t be added to a driver’s license for speeders as these are civil violations, according to the county’s website.
