
CARROLL COUNTY, Md. — The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a late-night fire that damaged a large building in Mt. Airy.
Officials say the fire was reported at 9:53 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, in Carroll County.
The building involved was an approximately 54-foot by 140-foot pole building, according to officials.
The occupant discovered the fire, which started inside the pole building. Officials say about 75 firefighters were on scene, with the fire brought under control in about 40 minutes. Winfield Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responding department.
There were no injuries reported.
Fire officials say the estimated damage was listed at $200,000.
