BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — Kevin Ahn, a 32-year-old accused of driving his mother’s corpse to rural Pennsylvania, was once again deemed incompetent for trial Friday, more than a year after his indictment in separate homicides in Baltimore County.
Appearing virtually from a psychiatric hospital in Jessup, Ahn failed his annual competency hearing after a medical report determined he was not yet able to understand the case nor participate in his defense.
The court noted, however, that the defendant has been “progressing in a meaningful way” and could one day be restored to a mental state fit for trial.
James Dills, Ahn’s public defender, said Friday that while he agreed with the state report’s finding, his client did not. The attorney declined to comment further after the hearing.
