Sharonda Ellerby, owner of the Fallston home that was the scene of a fatal Fourth of July shooting, is facing a lawsuit from a board member of her neighborhood’s homeowners association.

In the suit, Tom Karle Jr. alleges that Ellerby filed “malicious” peace orders against him as retaliation for Ellerby being asked to remove an illegally built deck.

Karle’s case, filed in Harford County District Court on Aug. 10, references two unsuccessful peace orders Ellerby sought against Karle in early July. That was after the Willow Vale Farms HOA ordered Ellerby to remove a deck from her property.

The lawsuit says the deck lacked proper building permits and inspections from Harford County, and that after the HOA demanded she take it down, Ellerby filed for a peace order claiming she and Karle were dating and that he was “stalking her.”
