Surveillance images released in juveniles wanted for Canton robbery, assault

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Investigators have released images of juveniles wanted in connection to an armed robbery and assault in Canton.

Officers were called to the 600 block of South Bradford Street August 4th.

In dispatch audio an officer indicates he had already been looking for these particular juveniles.

At the scene officers reviewed area surveillance cameras that captured the suspects and portions of the crime.

FOX45 News spoke with the victim Richard Dreves.

“He pulled his backpack off and he pulled a gun out and he brandished just the handle and where the bullets dispense at. He had it just like that. He said, man I’ll shoot you.”

Dreves said when he refused to give the juveniles his shoes and watch one suspect brandished a gun.

He said the group then threw rocks at him as they chased him throughout the neighborhood streets.

Investigators said during the incident Dreves watch came off his wrist and was stolen by one of the suspects.

In dispatch audio an officers can be heard warning other, responding officers one juvenile was armed.

The group managed to elude police, but not cameras.

Investigators have released their images along with a $6,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Just this week Baltimore City Police Commissioner Richard Worley and Baltimore City State’s Attorney Ivan Bates expressed their frustrations surrounding juvenile crime and the juvenile justice system.

“We shouldn’t be arresting them three and four times,” said Worley.

“We’ve got to fix the broken system,” said Bates.

Dreves has joined calls for better consequence and accountability.

“If they had to actually spend some time in a cell or in a dorm with the men guarantee they would never go back. They wouldn’t go back. They wouldn’t be down here committing crimes,” said Dreves.
