PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — The Prince George’s Community College placed its Largo campus on lockdown Thursday after a teen was shot, according to police.
Officers responded to the community college around Noon for the shooting and later confirmed the teen was shot on the campus. The teen walked into a nearby medical center for treatment. He has minor injuries and is expected to be ok.
The teen is a student at Prince George’s County Public Schools, the school district confirmed.
The lockdown and shelter-in-place for the community college has been lifted. However, nearby Largo High School is still under lockdown out of an abundance of caution.

Prince George’s County police said there is no threat to the community at this time. The county’s school district sent 7News this statement:
“The safety and well-being of students and staff is our highest priority. We are aware that a PGCPS student was wounded in a shooting today on the campus of Prince George’s Community College. The incident remains under investigation by law enforcement. As a precaution, Prince George’s Community College and nearby Largo High School were placed on lockdown while authorities responded to the incident. PGCPS is working closely with Prince George’s Community College and law enforcement as the investigation continues.”
