The Hampden neighborhood’s beloved holiday tradition continued Saturday with the 77th annual “Miracle on 34th Street” light display, drawing crowds and spreading festive cheer.
Residents decorated their homes and yards with elaborate holiday lights, attracting visitors from across the region. Local resident Jennifer Devine emphasized the event’s emotional impact, noting how the display lifts spirits and brings people together.
This year’s event featured not just lights, but also appearances by holiday characters including Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even the Grinch. First-time visitor Darlene Shifflett expressed her enthusiasm, calling the display “wonderful” and “all about Christmas.”
The light display will continue until New Year’s Day, running until 10 p.m. on weeknights and extending to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The tradition continues to draw both longtime residents and newcomers, with many attendees expressing their love for this unique Baltimore holiday celebration.
