Towson postpones Sunday evening fireworks due to severe weather forecast

TOWSON, Md. (WBFF) — People planning to watch fireworks in Towson on Sunday night will have to wait.

Organizers said the Towson Sunday evening fireworks celebration has been postponed because of the forecast for severe weather. The decision was made “out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our residents, guests, volunteers, and our fireworks crew.”

Organizers said they know many people were looking forward to the event and said they share the disappointment.

They said they are working to reschedule the fireworks as part of a future community event within the next three months and will announce the new date as soon as it is confirmed.

Organizers thanked the community for its understanding and support as they prioritize safety.
