Traffic stop in Severn leads to loaded shotgun, suspected drugs, police say

A traffic stop in Severn led to the seizure of a loaded shotgun, suspected drugs and cash, and the arrests of two men, Anne Arundel County police said.

According to police, on May 30, at about 4:35 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Annapolis Road and Disney Road.

Police said a subsequent search based on probable cause resulted in the seizure of a loaded Mossberg 590 shotgun, additional shotgun shells, various amounts of drugs, and $1,500 in cash.

The suspected drugs included MDMA, cocaine, Alprazolam, Adderall, and fentanyl, police said.

Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Police identified them as Brian Anthony Cobb, a 33-year-old man from Severn, and Stephen Anthony McCoy, a 61-year-old man from Mount Airy.
