Representatives from major cryptocurrency companies and financial institutions, including Coinbase, Ripple, and Nasdaq, were in attendance, along with SEC Chair Paul Atkins and CFTC Chair Mike Selig.

“We’re delighted to welcome some of our nation’s brightest minds in finance, crypto, and technology ahead of the first-ever meeting of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee in Washington, D.C.,” Trump said alongside technology leaders in the Roosevelt Room.

“The people in this room are ensuring that the future of commercial markets is pioneered and perfected right here in the USA,” he added.

The meeting came as federal regulators advance a more crypto-friendly framework. The SEC on Tuesday proposed rules that would exempt certain token offerings from securities regulations, potentially making it easier for cryptocurrency companies to raise money.

Trump has made support for digital assets a major part of his economic agenda since returning to the White House in 2025.

The meeting also cames as Congress continues debating broader cryptocurrency legislation intended to clarify how digital assets are regulated in the U.S.
