WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump will meet with his Cabinet at Camp David on Friday as the administration looks for a path forward to end the war with Iran.
The agenda for the meeting is likely to focus heavily on foreign policy, Reuters reported.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters last week that the 13th Cabinet meeting of Trump’s second term “will be a lot of fun and something different for the Cabinet to experience together.” It will be President Trump’s third trip to Camp David in his second term.
Following Friday’s meeting, President Trump is expected to travel to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he will spend the weekend.
In May, President Trump announced that that month’s Cabinet meeting would take place at Camp David, but later postponed, citing bad weather.
Camp David is the secluded presidential retreat in Maryland’s Catoctin Mountains and has long served as a site for high-level diplomacy and national security discussions.
Presidents from both parties have used Camp David to host foreign leaders, conduct wartime strategy sessions and negotiate major international agreements, including the 1978 Camp David Accords between Egypt and Israel brokered by President Jimmy Carter.
