COLUMBIA, Md. (WBFF) — Howard County police have identified the suspect in connection to the attempted robbery and shooting of a Shell gas station employee as 45-year-old Shantay Lashay O’Donnell, of Virginia.
On April 17 around 7:43 p.m., officers were called to a gas station in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way in Columbia for a reported shooting, police said.
An adult male victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries, according to authorities.

The preliminary investigation found that one suspect fired shots during an attempted robbery before fleeing. No one else was injured, police said.
On Monday, police announced a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest.

Now, O’Donnell is in custody in another state on unrelated charges and will be served with several Howard County charges in the coming days, officials said.
