
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Baltimore Police Department has released the identity of the suspect who they say is wanted for the murder of a Baltimore County teen.
Jada Sellers, 17, was shot outside of a home in soutwest Baltimore city July 31, 2026.
Sellers, who was a student at Milford Mill Academy, died two weeks later.
The Baltimore Police Department announced a warrant has been issued for 18-year-old Christian Hursey’s arrest, as well as a reward in the case.
According to newly obtained court documents, Hursey was Seller’s ex-boyfriend.
In the statement of charges investigators wrote private surveillance captured the fatal shooting.
In addition to area surveillance, investigators detailed how witness statements ultimately helped detectives name Hursey as the suspect in this case.
Officers were called to 709 Lyndhurst Avenue around 12:15 am July 31 after reports of a shooting.
According to court documents, responding officers found Sellers in the living room of the home with gunshot wounds to her throat and to her abdomen.
The 17-year-old was rushed to Shock Trauma in critical condition, and succumbed to her injuries August 12, 2026.
According to court documents, surveillance footage captured Sellers and a man speaking on the front porch.
Investigators wrote just outside of the fenced-in front yard stood a male suspect and another female.
Investigators said when Sellers attempted to exit through the gate the male suspect began shooting at her.
According to court documents, investigators interviewed several witnesses and associates of the victim who identified Hursey as the suspect.
Investigators wrote the witnesses and associates informed detectives Hursey was Seller’s ex-boyfriend and the two had recently been involved in a domestic incident which led to the break-up.
A reward is being offered for information that leads to Hursey’s arrest.
