A stray severe storm can’t be ruled out Friday.

Saturday for the 4th of July is also very hot and humid with highs in the low triple digits and heat index values close to 110.

Fireworks forecast

A cold front will continue to push southward trigging scattered showers and thunderstorms with the potential for severe weather Saturday afternoon/evening.

Rain and storm chances increase Sunday and Monday before relief from the high heat returns by the middle of next week.
