A West Palm Beach man was arrested for allegedly attempting to lure a 17-year-old girl from her bedroom with a $1,500 offer for sexual acts.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a home invasion and attempted kidnapping early on May 11.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the teenager was awakened around 2:42 a.m. by scratching noises outside her bedroom window.

To her horror, she reported that she saw a man, later identified as Antonio Aguilar-Basillio, trying to force his way inside.

Aguilar-Basillio allegedly repeatedly attempted to lure the young victim outside by offering her $1500 for sexual acts, prompting the victim to call 911.

Deputies who arrived at the scene reported finding clear signs of forced entry, including damage to the window and surrounding trim.

Just two days later, the victim reported that she spotted Aguilar-Basillio entering a nearby residence. She provided deputies with a screenshot of Aguilar-Basillio.

As the investigation continued, deputies observed Aguilar-Basillio at the residence; his physical description, including a distinctive slit-style eyebrow, matched the victim’s account. When called to come out, he instead retreated back into the house.

In a post-Miranda interview, Aguilar-Basillio admitted the image depicted him but claimed he could not remember the night’s events due to a mix of alcohol and narcotics.

Aguilar-Basillio was arrested on Thursday and accused of multiple offenses, including Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, Criminal Mischief, and Solicitation/Travel to Meet a Child after Use of a Computer to Lure.
