
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (7News) — A Temple Hills man has been charged in the fatal shooting of his former girlfriend after authorities say he turned himself in to police following the killing.

The Prince George’s County Police Department identified the suspect as 31-year-old Terrence Penn Jr. of Temple Hills. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of 31-year-old Dakota Keys of Capitol Heights.
Officers responded around 10:10 p.m. on July 4 to the 1900 block of Brooks Drive for a report of a shooting. They found Keys in a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Investigators described the killing as domestic-related.
Police said Penn fled the scene after the shooting but turned himself in to authorities a short time later.
Penn is being held by the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections without bond, according to police.
