Woman in custody after admitting to police she shot man on Glenolden Avenue

A 31-year-old woman is in custody after police say she admitted to shooting a man in Baltimore’s Western District.

According to police, officers responded to the 600 block of Glenolden Avenue at about 1:39 p.m. Oct. 26, for a reported shooting.

Police said officers found a 42-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Medics took him to a local hospital for treatment.

While officers were on the scene, police said 31-year-old Michelle McRae approached them and said she shot the victim following an argument.

McRae was taken into custody and directed officers to the firearm, which was recovered, police said.

After an interview, McRae was taken to Central Booking and charged with first-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, and multiple handgun violations, police said.

She remains at Central Booking awaiting a bail hearing.
