WASHINGTON (7NEWS) — The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade returns to D.C. on Saturday, bringing floats, performances, and thousands of visitors to the nation’s capital.
The parade runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., stretching 10 blocks along Constitution Avenue, Northwest, from 7th Street to Virginia Avenue near the Washington Monument.
Adrianna Hopkins and Adam Longo of 7News are hosting the broadcast alongside Hannah Battah and Sophie Flay of ABC World News Now.
7News anchor Megan Clarke is on the parade route with TV personality Carson Kressley, bringing live updates from the street.
More than 80 groups are taking part, featuring helium balloons, decorative floats, and live performances.
Scheduled performers include Cyniah Elise, Cast members from The Wiz, Betty Maxwell, and Sarah Potenza.
Drivers should expect significant traffic impacts throughout the day. No parking started as early as 3 a.m. along multiple streets near Constitution Avenue.
Road closures began at 3 a.m., with additional closures starting at 9 a.m. All restrictions are expected to remain in place until about 5 p.m.
