PASADENA, Md. (WBFF) — A woman was killed in a residential fire late Tuesday night in Pasadena, the first fire fatality in Anne Arundel County in 2026, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
Fire officials said crews were called at about 10:50 p.m. April 21, after a 911 call from an occupant inside a home in the 300 block of Magothy Beach Road reporting the house was on fire.
Units arrived within three minutes and reported fire showing from the front of the home.
Officials said occupants at the scene told firefighters one elderly person was still trapped inside. Firefighters entered the house and located an adult woman, later identified as Cindy Hill, 63.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause remains under investigation, but officials said it is believed to be accidental. Investigators determined smoke detectors were working and alerted the occupants to the fire.
