A family of geese found themselves in a dangerous situation Tuesday morning on Interstate 95, but thanks to the efforts of an Aberdeen police officer and several passing motorists, the birds were guided to safety.

According to the Aberdeen Police Department, on June 2, Officer Buettner responded to the area near mile marker 77.5 on I-95 after a family of geese was spotted attempting to cross the busy highway.

Working alongside several good Samaritans, Officer Buettner helped direct the geese away from traffic and safely off the roadway.
