FALLSTON, Md. (WBFF) — A Harford County official said the organizer of a Fallston party that ended in a fatal shooting this weekend did not apply for an event permit, which county code requires for such for-profit house parties.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office also said Wednesday that both of the victims — 23-year-old Jordan Jennings, of Windsor Mill, who died, and 34-year-old Joseph Evans, of Owings Mills, who was critically injured — were attending the party, not part of the armed security detail hired for the event.
The shooting was reported just after midnight on Sunday during a large Fourth of July house party, on Willow Vale Drive in Fallston. The homeowner’s adult son had sold tickets to the event, which drew about 100 attendees from around the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., area, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Per county code, any event held on private property that is open to the public is required to obtain a temporary event permit.
