ABERDEEN Md. (WBFF) — A traffic stop in Aberdeen on Wednesday night led to a Havre de Grace man’s arrest and the seizure of a loaded handgun, suspected crystal methamphetamine, and other suspected drugs, police said.
On Wednesday, July 22, at around 7:47 p.m., an Aberdeen officer conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation near Route 22 and Old Post Road.
Police said circumstances during the stop prompted the officer to request assistance from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.
After the K-9 gave a positive alert, officers searched the vehicle. They recovered about six ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, drug distribution paraphernalia, a loaded handgun and more than $2,500 in U.S. currency.
Dustin Beresh, 46, of Heather Way in Havre de Grace, was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Investigators also determined Beresh is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Beresh was transported to the Harford County Detention Center, where he was initially held without bail.
Police said he is charged with numerous firearms and controlled dangerous substance offenses.
