CANTON (WBFF) — Residents in Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood say they’re frustrated and increasingly concerned after repeated encounters with a man they say has been exposing himself in the area.
Neighbors told FOX45 the incidents have left them feeling uneasy in their own community.
One resident, Samantha Pollitt, shared videos she captured of the man with FOX45. She says she’s seen him multiple times and hopes the images will help identify him.
Residents say the encounters have been happening for months, with some changing their daily routines because they no longer feel safe walking alone or being outside late at night.
Others say they’ve started carrying pepper spray or paying closer attention to their surroundings.
“I know my wife can also handle herself too. She carries pepper spray with her,” said Carl Gaskill.
“It’s important to be informed on these types of things, but it would not deter me from living here,” said Margaret Burke.
Neighbors say they’ve been sharing photos and videos of the suspected flasher on social media in hopes someone recognizes him and contacts police.
Residents say they’re hoping someone comes forward with information that helps identify the man before another incident occurs.
“I hope we can come together as a community, come together in the city and communicate this more so that this individual does get turned in,” said Burke.
FOX45 reached out to the Baltimore Police Department asking if additional patrols will be added to the neighborhood. The department had not responded.
